The Caperton Center Teaching & Learning Commons and Library serve as a branch of the Ruth Ann Musick Library located on the main campus and provides library support services for the academic needs of students, faculty and staff at the Caperton Center.
The Caperton Center library’s small print collection is designed to serve the immediate educational needs of Caperton Center students through a mix of rotating collections, overnight delivery from the main library, and online resources. Free delivery of materials can be requested via the online catalog.
The print collection is accessible using our web-based Library Catalog. The library participates in the MARLO consortium (Marion Libraries Online) with Glenville State College and all public and school libraries in Marion County. Searches conducted in the catalog also show the holdings of those institutions. Millions of articles that are not available through Internet search engines, such as Google, can be obtained through the use of the library’s many databases, which are remotely accessible by using your Fairmont State/Pierpont UCA username and password. These articles come from print magazines, scholarly journals and newspapers.
Physical materials placed on reserve for Caperton Center classes are available at the Circulation Desk. Note that many instructors place materials on reserve online through Electronic Reserves. These can be searched by instructor or class and are password protected by the instructor.
Interlibrary Loan provides students and faculty free access to materials not owned by the library.
