The Office of Career Services provides programs, services, and information designed to help students and alumni make informed career decisions, develop skills, and learn more about the ongoing journey of career development. We provide several presentations and activities that faculty can incorporate within their existing courses.
Career Presentations & Services
Career Services Counselors are available as guest speakers in your class and can offer instruction on career planning and job interviewing topics.
Mock Interviews, with feedback, are conducted with each student individually. We can use your grading rubric or provide one for you.
Resume Reviews can be offered in a group setting with a presentation and feedback or on an individual basis with each of your students.
Career Services offers a workshop/presentation for Salary Negotiation known as $tart $mart. This is primarily geared toward women, but has wonderful content applicable to any audience member. When students leave the $tart $mart campus workshop, they learn:
· how the gender wage gap affects their lives
· how to develop a personal budget to determine salary needs
· how to benchmark salary and benefits
· how to negotiate for their first salary out of college
We are open to customized sessions and are happy to discuss your classroom needs. Please contact Brandi.Smith@pierpont.edu, 304-333-3701.
