About Us

The mission of the Falcon Center is to provide activities and services for the Fairmont State and Pierpont community. Through various recreational and social programs the center and its staff will provide an atmosphere to support the out-of-class experience as part of the total educational process while advancing the institutional missions and supporting college persistence. These programs will promote a sense of community and loyalty to Fairmont State and Pierpont while serving as a meeting place for intellectual, physical and development growth of students, faculty and staff as individuals or as part of a group.

FALCON CENTER AMENITIES

The Falcon Center, centrally located on campus, provides an environment where students and employees can comfortably interact with one another while enjoying a variety of fitness and wellness programs, eating areas and study lounges. The campus bookstore, dining services, a food court, game room, and much more is available for both students and employees. Included in the 126,000 square foot facility is:

Weight Room 7,000 square feet of fitness equipment including tread mills, bikes, stair-steppers, elliptical trainers, selectorized/plate-loaded weight equipment, free weights, and cardio- theater are available.
Gymnasiums 5 versatile courts marked for basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis and indoor soccer.
Fitness Rooms 2 multi-purpose rooms providing a variety of classes (Zumba, Yoga, Martial Arts, spinning and many more). Enjoy the soft, padded flooring and the companionship of others enjoying fitness.
Intramural Sports The Intramural Sports program provides organized sport and recreational activities for all students and faculty/staff at FSU and Pierpont. The program also offers opportunity to participate in individual, dual and team competition in season, weekend and tournament play at all skill levels. Such sports may include Dodgeball, Basketball, Flag Football, Texas Hold Em and many more.
Aquatics Aquatics include a four-lane, 25 yard lap/fitness pool, whirlpool, sauna, and outdoor sunning deck. Enjoy Water Aerobics or test yourself in our annual indoor triathlon.
Indoor Track Five laps around make a mile on the four-lane cushioned jogging/walking track, with available stretch areas. The track wraps around the top of 2 gyms so you are always viewing the activity while exercising.
Locker Rooms Spacious locker rooms with individualized shower stall and full lockers that may be rented.
Dining Services Dining hall seats 500 with a spacious outdoor terrace. A variety of food and "all you can eat" is offered through multiple stations.
Bookstore The bookstore, run by Barnes & Noble is located on the second level of the Falcon Center. Just look for the beautiful mural on the end wall. A variety of school and pleasure books, clothing and many amenities are available for your convenience.
Lounges Study Lounges are located throughout the Falcon Center. You can find one on the second floor and another on the third floor. The building is wireless so find a comfortable sofa and open your laptop.
Computer Labs The Computer lab, conveniently located on the third floor of the Falcon Center is available for long hours for students studying needs.
Nickel The food court and convenience store is located in the Falcon Center for a quick bite to eat.
Student Health Services Student Health Services is also conveniently located on the third floor of the Falcon Center for student health needs.
Copy Center The Copy Center is located on the third floor of the Falcon Center for students copying and design needs.
Conference Center Conference Center offers 2,300 sqft of comfortable meeting space. The 2,300sqft can be split up into three different conference rooms upon request. A convenient drop down screen and state-of-the-art eletronice system makes presentations efficient and professional.
ID Card Office College identification cards (Falcon ID Card), used by students, faculty/staff, are required for use in the libraries, to enter into the Bryant Place residence hall and Falcon Center (recreation area), to park in the parking garage, and to attend all campus activities and athletic events. It will be used as your meal card in the campus dining facilities (meal plan purchase required). To have your card made or correct problems related with your card, please stop by the ID card office (Falcon Center Office #100).
