Friday, August 20th is the last day for students to complete the application process for the Fall 2010 semester at Pierpont Community & Technical College. Classes begin on Monday, August 23rd.
"Pierpont Community & Technical College is committed to the success and retention of our students," said Dr. Doreen Larson, President of Pierpont C&TC. "College courses are demanding and students must come to classes prepared. Students who begin the admissions process after classes have begun have limited or no access to preparatory services. They have no opportunity to preview books and other required materials, appropriate courses are rarely available, forcing them into poor course choices, and they miss school opening activities and often miss a course session."
Pierpont encourages students who cannot complete the application process for this fall by Friday, August 20th, to apply and plan on course enrollment beginning in the January term. Students who have previously attended Pierpont - or those who have completed the application process, including placement testing, will continue to be registered to the best of our ability. Limited enrollment may be possible in Second 8-Week or Weekend College courses which begin in October. Applications for these terms will be accepted beginning September 1st.
Support of student success begins well before a student enters the classroom. Students entering the classroom after the course has begun are placed at significant risk for failure and Pierpont will not place our students at risk.
