A Pierpont Community & Technical College student died on campus, Saturday, August 21st.
The student was living in a residence hall on the main campus shared by Pierpont and Fairmont State University.
The incident, which occurred in Morrow Hall, is under investigation by the FSU Department of Public Safety. No foul play is suspected. According to the Department of Public Safety, there is no indication that any other students, staff or faculty were or are in danger related to the student's death.
"We are in contact with the student's family," said Dr. Doreen Larson, President of Pierpont C&TC. "The campus community extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the student who passed away."
A counselor from the Office of Student Affairs has met with Residence Life staff and is available to students, faculty and staff dealing with the news.
The investigation is ongoing. Further details will be released as appropriate as the investigation continues.
