The Pierpont Community & Technical College family welcomes not only your student, but also his or her family members. In fact, we aim to form a special relationship with the parents and family members who support each student's success. We recognize that your relationship with your student is like no other and that you have a significant role in their success both in and out of the classroom. We share in common your goal - we too want to see your student happy, healthy and achieving his or her objectives. We are passionate, like you, about seeing your student to the finish line of graduation and off to a bright future (be it a career or further education/training). We're with you, every step of the way, cheering them on and providing them with guidance and helpful resources. We want our students' families to be involved, included, informed, and invested in such a way that the student truly benefits - growing into an independent and well-rounded citizen. We look forward to partnering with you for your student's success!
Whether you are determining if Pierpont is the best choice for your student, or your student is already a part of our family, please feel free to use the resource links we have compiled below. And, please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions. We're here to help.

Parents and family members have a vested interest in the experience their student has leading up to admission, through enrollment, and including graduation. To help you and your student remain on track throughout each phase in the higher education pursuit, we provide several informative and enjoyable programs/events, a handful of which are outlined below:
Campus Visitation Day: A bi-annual visitation/open house event intended to familiarize prospective students and their families with our institution (from financial aid and housing to student life and academics). Guests will enjoy complimentary lunch, participate in special sessions, meet directly with faculty, have the option to tour campus and much more. A special adult session exists for non-traditional students who are interested in enrolling or coming back to school. For more details and to RSVP, please visit www.pierpont.edu/CVD.
Orientation: In the months leading up to each new semester, multiple Orientation programs are held for newly admitted or readmitted students and their families. Students receive an invitation and RSVP to attend on the appropriate Orientation date. During the program, students finalize financial aid and housing arrangements, obtain a parking pass (if needed) and photo ID card, and become acclimated to the campus and institutional procedures. A variety of programs are offered (from daytime programs to evening programs and a special Orientation for students enrolling in classes at the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg, WV. At each program, a special track designed for parents and family members runs parallel to the student program. For more Orientation information, please visit www.pierpont.edu/pierpontadmit/orientation.
Welcome Weekend: The weekend before each fall semester begins, Welcome Weekend kicks off! This fun and informational series of events is intended to provide students with a better understanding of themselves and the mission ahead. Welcome Weekend includes residence hall move-in and provides a rule book for each student to follow in the beginning of his or her academic journey. Starting off on the right foot will ensure that throughout the academic and social journey, each student makes the right moves toward reaching the end goal. Students admitted to the fall semester should watch the mail and the Pierpont homepage for more information about Welcome Weekend. Students who enroll in classes at the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg, WV should watch for information on the Back-to-School Bash held at that location around the same time.
Family Weekend: Mid to late September each year, parents and family members are invited back to campus to enjoy a fun-filled weekend. Family Weekend is an exceptional opportunity to fellowship with and check in on your student, whether your student resides on campus, or commutes from nearby. Cookouts, special performances, athletic contests and other activities are designed to facilitate your involvement - we want parents and family members to remain connected and to feel a part of the Pierpont family. Families should watch the mail and the Pierpont homepage for more information.
