Three Finalists Announced

PIERPONT C&TC PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH COMMITTEE NAMES FINALISTS


The Pierpont Community & Technical College Presidential Search Committee has named three finalists. The campus community and the public will have an opportunity to meet the candidates during campus visits scheduled for the week of April 5th. Faculty, staff and students are strongly encouraged to attend during the specific times set aside for each constituency group. An additional “open” session has also been scheduled which anyone may attend.

“Our search process has resulted in the identification of three outstanding individuals,” said Jim Griffin, Chairman of the Pierpont Board of Governors and of the search committee. “I strongly encourage our faculty, staff and students to take the time to meet each of these candidates while they are on campus. It will also be important for members of our community to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Finalists include Jill Landesberg-Boyle, Ed.D.; Doreen M. Larson, Ph.D.; and Gregory S. Sojka, Ph.D.

Landesberg-Boyle earned her Ed.D. in Organizational Development and Applied Group Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has served as a Residence Director at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; Dean of Students at the University of Judaism, Bel Air, CA; Dean of Student Affairs at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA; Vice President for Student Affairs at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA; and President of Florida Keys Community College in Key West, FL.

Larson earned her Ph.D. in Special Education – Adult Transitional Services from Kent State University. She has served as a faculty member in the College of Education at Kent State; a faculty member in Education, Counseling, and Developmental Education at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, OH; Dean of Counseling and Academic Support Services at Lakeland CC; Assistant Vice President for Student Access and Services at Lakeland CC; and Vice President for Student Affairs at Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA.

Sojka earned his Ph.D. in American Literature from Indiana University. He has served as an Instructor of English at Indiana University; a Lecturer in English and American Studies at North Carolina State University; an Assistant Professor of American Studies and Chair of the Department of American Studies at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS; American Council of Education Post-Doctoral Fellow in Academic Administration at Indiana University; Assistant to the Executive President for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of English and American Studies at Wichita State; Academic Dean and Associate Professor of English and American Studies at the University of Wyoming/Casper College Center in Casper, WY; Academic Vice President and Professor of English, Lewis-Clark State College, in Lewiston, ID; Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University or Rio Grande in Rio Grande, OH; President of the University of Rio Grande; and Special Projects Consultant to the Board of Trustees at the University of Rio Grande.
