Sojka earned his Ph.D. in American Literature from Indiana University. He has served as an Instructor of English at Indiana University; a Lecturer in English and American Studies at North Carolina State University; an Assistant Professor of American Studies and Chair of the Department of American Studies at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS; American Council of Education Post-Doctoral Fellow in Academic Administration at Indiana University; Assistant to the Executive President for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of English and American Studies at Wichita State; Academic Dean and Associate Professor of English and American Studies at the University of Wyoming/Casper College Center in Casper, WY; Academic Vice President and Professor of English, Lewis-Clark State College, in Lewiston, ID; Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University or Rio Grande in Rio Grande, OH; President of the University of Rio Grande; and Special Projects Consultant to the Board of Trustees at the University of Rio Grande.
