ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SKILL SET OVERVIEW

This program is designed to help individuals sharpen their skills for today’s office setting. It is also designed to assist individuals who are making the transition from secretarial to administrative assistant/supervisory positions. Today’s office setting requires individuals who possess a broad base in business management, communication, and decision-making ability as well as solid technical skills. The Administrative Assistant Certificate will provide an opportunity for individuals to gain employable skills in a short-term, industry-focused skill set. The potential audience will be both traditional and non-traditional students desiring to gain skills specifically applicable to current office demands. The potential market will be individuals currently working in an office setting who desire to prepare themselves to move into managerial/supervisory positions as well as individuals seeking to learn skills to enhance their employability. This certificate also provides an appropriate lead-in for students to pursue an associate degree in administrative support or general business.

Graduates of the Administrative Assistant Skill Set are prepared for entry level positions in schools, hospitals, corporate settings, government, or legal and medical offices.
