First Year Experience - Local MAP-Works Support

As you and your fellow first-year students enter higher education, you will all face various transitions. Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College are committed to helping you make those transitions successfully. As part of that commitment, we are participating for the second year in MAP-Works, a web-enabled program to help improve students’ success in college.

We are asking all full-time, first-year students to complete the MAP-Works survey, which can be accessed within the Blackboard learning management system starting on Tuesday, September 7 and ending at midnight on Tuesday, September 14.  You will find the link beside your campus courses, under a section titled "Campus Bookmarks."  Enter your campus email address on the MAP-Works page and follow the directions to access the survey.  Alternately, you can access the MAP-Works page directly through the following url (new survey won't be active till September 7!)

As soon as you complete the survey, you receive a customized report that will connect you to services and people on our campus who can provide the specific types of assistance or support you need to succeed!

PS - Check with instructors for your first-year courses - extra credit may be available for participating in this survey and analyzing your personal report!
