The residence hall staff has been carefully selected and trained to effectively manage the residence halls. The goal of the staff, at all levels, is to help students succeed.
The Director of the Office of Residence Life, Assistant Director, Housing Coordinator, Resident Directors and one full-time Administrative Assistant, along with several part-time student workers, support the central office (located in 201 Hardway).
The Director of the Office of Residence Life is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the residence life programs at Pierpont and coordinates the selection, training, and evaluation of all student and professional staff. The director also manages the residential judicial process. The Director is located in 248 Hardway Hall.
The Assistant Director of the Office of Residence Life is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and renovation of the residence halls. The Assistant Director is located in the satellite office at 603 Bryant Place.
Coordinator of Housing Services supports the Director and Assistant Director in making room assignments, processing room changes, monitoring hall occupancy and other administrative duties. The Housing Coordinator is located in 248 Hardway Hall.
A Resident Director (RD) manages the RA staff. These professional staff members are familiar with the campus and can direct students to the appropriate individual or office when they have a question. RDs regularly relay important information, and identify students who violate college policy and refer them for judicial action.
Administrative Assistant supports the Residence Life staff with day to day operations. Processes housing deposits, student staff payroll concerns and handles student issues in the office as they arise.
In the residence halls themselves, responsible students are chosen for the following job positions:
An Assistant Resident Director (ARD)ARDs are located in each residence hall on campus. They assist the Residence Director in the daily operations of the residence halls.
A Resident Assistant (RA) lives in a residence hall or apartment area and is strategically located to best respond to student’s needs. RAs foster a sense of community and implement social, recreational, educational, cultural, and community service activities.
A Hall Monitor works the desk at the main entrance of the residence halls. These students a responsible for registering visitors as they enter the halls.
