This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of matter, energy and mechanics and provides a detail study of the application in the radiologic sciences. The course also covers electromagnetic & particulate radiation, radiation production, energy transmission, interaction with matter, and x-ray generating equipment. The course is designed to provide the student with a comprehensive knowledge of radiation and its properties in an effort to minimize the potential radiation hazards to the patient and radiographer. 48 clock hours.
