Pirner started teaching at Pierpont Community & Technical College in 2019 after working as an adjunct professor of biology at Davis & Elkins College. She received a B.S. in Animal & Nutritional Sciences from WVU in 2010, an M.S. in Animal Physiology from WVU in 2012, and a Ph.D. in Animal Sciences at Texas Tech University in 2018, focusing on olfactory communication in domestic dogs and the effects of pheromones on acute stress. Her interests include quilting, roller derby, and many outdoor activities.
