Allison McCue is Pastry and Baking Program Coordinator and Instructor for Pierpont Community and Technical College. She is a Certified Culinarian and Pastry Culinarian as well as an alumna of both the Culinary and Pastry degree programs at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. McCue is a 2017 NISOD Excellence Award winner and a 2015 recipient of the Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.
As a program coordinator, Allison has developed new curriculum and events to increase student engagement such as the Tortes and Specialty Cakes course. In addition to her responsibilities as a program coordinator, Allison is the assistant coach for Pierpont Culinary Academy’s award-winning student competition team. The team has won many competitions at the state level and has won silver medals in regional competitions throughout the northeast from Toronto, ON to Providence, RI.
She believes the most rewarding aspect of her career has been helping develop a student’s passion for the food service industry and seeing them develop into successful professional chefs. Allison began her career as a baker at the historical Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, WV. Before coming to Pierpont she was the pastry chef and assistant manager of Ohio University’s bakery and commissary.
