The Medical Administrative Assistant Advanced Skill Set provides students with the opportunity to attain skills and education necessary to support healthcare operations and ensure that healthcare facilities and offices run smoothly and efficiently. Working environments include physician’s offices, hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Employment in this field is projected to grow 36 percent from 2012 to 2022.
Assistant Professor/Program Coordinator
Graduates who obtain the Medical Administrative Assistant Advanced Skill Set have the option of obtaining certification with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA).
Medical Administrative Assistants with an advanced skill set can go on to a variety of entry level positions, including:
- Medical Secretary
- Customer Service Representative
- Front Office Staff
