It doesn’t matter if you are going back to school or just graduating high school, we are sure that you will find your time here to be life changing. So now that you have made the decision, what’s next? Becoming an official Pierpont student is easy. We’ve outlined the requirements at Pierpont based on your student type. Remember, if you’re applying to a selective program there may be additional requirements.

First-Time Freshman

Your new and exciting journey begins here! A first time freshman is someone who is attending college for the first time without taking time off from high school. Check out the next steps to becoming part of Pierpont.

Required:

  1. Apply to Pierpont Community & Technical College
    • If applying for a selective program, submit corresponding application material
  2. Send official final high school transcript
  3. Send proof of MMR immunization records

Strongly Encouraged:

  1. File your FAFSA at studentaid.gov
    • Create your FSA ID and add Pierpont’s school code (040385) to your FAFSA
  2. WV Residents: Check out & Apply for WV Invests Grant – wvinvests.org
  3. If applicable, send official transcripts of any previous college (think dual enrollment classes – if you took the course with Pierpont, then you don’t need to send your transcript)
  4. If applicable, send standardized test scores such as ACT/SAT scores.

First Time Freshman Other – It’s exciting to know your Pierpont journey start now! A first time freshman other, is someone who is attending college for the first time that did not immediately follow high school.

Readmit

Welcome back! We are so excited to have you re-join the Pierpont community! A readmit student is someone who has previously attended Pierpont and taken at least one semester (excluding summer term) off.  Check out the next steps on getting back to school.

Required:

  1. Apply to Pierpont Community & Technical College
    • If applying for a selective program, submit corresponding application material
  2. Send official final high school transcript
  3. Send proof of MMR immunization records

Strongly Encouraged:

  1. File your FAFSA at studentaid.gov
    • Create your FSA ID and add Pierpont’s school code (040385) to your FAFSA

Transfer Students – Welcome to the Pierpont family! We know the transfer process can be intimidating. Any applicant, who has attended another institution of higher education, is classified as a transfer student. But don’t worry, we are here to help! Check out the process here:

Transfer Students

Required:

  1. Apply to Pierpont Community & Technical College
    • If applying for a selective program, submit corresponding application material
  2. Send official final high school transcript
  3. Send official transcripts of any previous college

Post Graduate Students

Any applicant that has completed a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution may pursue another degree as a postgraduate student.

  1. Apply to Pierpont Community & Technical College
    • If applying for a selective program, submit corresponding application material
  2. Send official final high school transcript
  3. Send official transcripts of any previous college
  4. Send proof of MMR immunization records

Strongly Encouraged:

  1. File your FAFSA at studentaid.gov
    • Create your FSA ID and add Pierpont’s school code (040385) to your FAFSA
  2. If applicable, send standardized test scores such as ACT/SAT score

Guest/Transient Student

We’re glad to be part of your journey! A guest/transient student who intends to take a course or two at Pierpont, while primarily studying at another institution. Guest/Transient students must apply to be a Pierpont student if they want to obtain a degree from Pierpont or if they want to take more than 15 credit hours.

Required:

  1. Apply to Pierpont Community & Technical College
  2. Submit transient approval form. Your home institution typically has an approval process to take a course with another institution.

Strongly Encouraged:

  1. Financial Aid consortium agreement form
  2. If applicable, send standardized test scores such as ACT/SAT scores

High School Student taking College Classes

Required:

  1. Apply to Pierpont Community & Technical College
  2. Complete the add/drop form including having a parent or guardian, and school official approve and sign the document

Strongly Encouraged:

If applicable, send standardized test scores such as ACT/SAT scores. Some courses may require placement testing or completion of prerequisite courses.

Application

To start your application at Pierpont, see our online application. Scroll down and click “Sign Up”. Follow the prompts to create a login, you’ll want to remember your password. To finalize the set-up, go to your email to finish. Then you can begin the general application.
