FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Pierpont Community & Technical College has launched a national search for its next provost and vice president of academic affairs as former provost Dr. Michael Waide transitions from interim president to president on July 1.
The provost and vice president of academic affairs serves as the college’s chief academic officer, providing leadership for academic programs, faculty and student learning initiatives. The next provost will play a key role in advancing Pierpont’s mission of offering accessible, career-focused education that meets the needs of students and the region’s workforce.
“The provost plays an important role in shaping the academic experience at Pierpont,” said Dr. Waide. “We’re looking for someone who supports our faculty, understands the needs of our students, and is ready to build on the strong foundation we have in place.”
The search process will include multiple stages designed to ensure broad input and engagement from across the college community. Candidates will be evaluated through several levels of review, with stakeholders from various areas of the institution participating in the process.
Finalists will be invited to campus to participate in open presentations, providing an opportunity for faculty, staff, students and community members to learn more about each candidate and share feedback.
