Pierpont Community & Technical College’s Center for Workforce Education provides a variety of non-credit courses and programs designed to provide a student with skill upgrades, certifications, and training for many purposes, including gainful employment, salary increases and/or advancement within a company or industry.

Courses and programs are offered based on workforce needs and can be delivered in a variety of ways including online, instructor-led and hybrid (a combination of face-to-face and online).

Current Workforce Training Programs

FAA Test Prep -Airframe

For Prequalified Applicants Only:

The ten-week FAA Test Prep-Airframe course combines hands-on training and classroom instruction in FAA General Aviation and Airframe theory and maintenance to prepare for the written, oral and practical certifications exams.

Pre-Qualifications:

Participants must have an 8610-2 Sign Off or Graduation/Certificate of completion from a Part 147 school.

Course Schedule

  • January 17 – March 30, 2023 (10 weeks includes 1-week midway break)
  • Tuesday & Thursday evenings weekly;
    • Tuesdays 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (2 Hours),
    • Thursdays 5:00 – 8:00 PM(3 Hours)

Aviation Structures Technician Training

The Aircraft Structures Technician Training (ASTT) course prepares individuals in aircraft basics and structures technology, based on FAA industry standards. The ASTT program will equip you for entry level positions in the Aviation Industry.

EMT – Basic

The Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) training program combines 150 hours of hands-on learning labs with online instruction (hybrid format), providing students the knowledge & skills needed to take the NREMT and WV EMT Certification exams.
