David M. Beighley currently serves as Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Pierpont Community and Technical College, where he provides executive leadership for all academic operations, including instructional programming, workforce education, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, dual enrollment, eLearning, and strategic academic planning. In this role, he oversees the College’s academic schools and academic support units while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to advance student success and workforce-responsive education.
A member of the Pierpont community for more than twenty years, Mr. Beighley has served the institution in progressively responsible leadership roles, including faculty member, program coordinator, Faculty Senate President, Dean, Associate Provost, and Interim Provost. His broad institutional experience has provided him with a deep understanding of community and technical college education. Throughout his administrative career, he has led institution-wide initiatives focused on academic quality, accreditation, assessment, strategic planning, program review, curriculum development, and operational effectiveness.
Mr. Beighley brings more than fifteen years of experience with Higher Learning Commission accreditation and compliance activities, including leadership of assurance argument development, mid-cycle review preparation, quality improvement initiatives, assessment reporting, and institutional planning efforts. He has also provided significant leadership in institutional assessment and data-informed decision-making.
A strong advocate for student-centered education, Mr. Beighley believes that community colleges serve as engines of opportunity, workforce development, and economic mobility. His leadership philosophy emphasizes collaboration, transparency, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement while maintaining an unwavering focus on student persistence, completion, and success.
